Pan-African leadership and communications alignment for a multinational healthcare organisation operating across Africa.
wecolab partnered with a multinational pharmaceutical, diagnostics and healthcare organisation operating across more than 40 African countries to create greater alignment between leadership, markets and stakeholders. By developing a unified communications architecture and enabling leadership as a channel of influence, the organisation strengthened its visibility, improved market cohesion, implemented shared campaigns, and established a more consistent voice across the continent.

Overview
wecolab partnered with a multinational pharmaceutical, diagnostics and healthcare organisation operating across more than 40 African countries to create greater alignment between leadership, markets and stakeholders. By developing a unified communications architecture and enabling leadership as a channel of influence, the organisation strengthened its visibility, improved market cohesion, implemented shared campaigns, and established a more consistent voice across the continent.
The challenge
Operating across multiple countries requires consistency at scale. This healthcare organisation partners with governments, healthcare professionals and institutions to improve access to diagnostics and strengthen healthcare systems across the continent. Yet despite a significant footprint and meaningful impact, communications varied between markets. Strategic priorities were interpreted differently, leadership communication lacked consistency and shared campaigns were not always fully leveraged across regions.
Starting inside
wecolab works inside organisations, close to leadership, strategy and operational reality. Rather than treating communication as an amplification function, we focus on how influence moves through an organisation. In complex multinational environments, alignment must happen internally before it can be reflected externally. Working across regions and leadership teams, we partnered with the organisation to create a communication system capable of connecting leadership intent, market activity and stakeholder engagement through one coherent structure.
Strategic intervention
To create greater consistency across markets, wecolab designed and embedded a Pan-African communications architecture that balanced local relevance with strategic alignment. This included:
Activating influence
Leadership became a more visible and consistent channel of influence across policy, healthcare and stakeholder conversations. At the same time, coordinated communication activity across key African markets strengthened visibility, increased stakeholder engagement and improved the organisation’s ability to communicate its contribution to healthcare access and system strengthening.
Impact
Ongoing momentum
A unified communication infrastructure now connects strategy, leadership and markets, enabling influence to move more consistently across the continent and strengthening engagement with the stakeholders who shape healthcare outcomes.
We focus on how influence moves through an organisation.
